Our story
The HBSA has been supporting the hair and beauty industry since 1927. While times have changed, our aims have not.
Collectively, the hair & beauty industry places millions of products onto the market every year. Manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and salons have a duty to work together to remove waste materials and recycle them (where possible), efficiently and affordably.
Recycle My Salon is an industry solution led by the HBSA and supported by a large number of companies in the industry.
We are saying no to landfill and want to play our part in fighting climate change. Enter Recycle My Salon.
Our philosophy
We believe that doing the right thing should be accessible to all, and not for profit. That’s why we have created a not-for-profit hair salon waste recycling scheme. We also believe in getting things right. While we are staring small with an aluminium and hair only recycling offer, we plan on getting it right, before offering multiple recycling streams in the years to come.
